My Visit to Lucknow - City of Nawabs

Last weekend was a long weekend for me and i got a chance to visit the city of nawabs...Lucknow.....the city really rocks....people have still preserved the 'Lakhnawi Tehzeeb' culture ...i boarded the train from delhi on last friday...luckily the connectivity between qutub minar and central secrateriat started on the same day...this made my journey to delhi railway station very easy and cheap too ..just Rs.22.5..isn't it amazing ....the train i took, reached lucknow was 1 hour late beacuse of which i got an extra hour of sleep in an AC coach.....When i got down at lucknow station i was surrounded by auto people...the same what happens at delhi railway station...but here it was different experience...people were very polite .....after relaxing at a friend's place i decided to go for some shopping...what could be a better option than starting with Sahara Mall...Mall with a huge parking space and a nice one for shopping too....we also enjoyed watching the movie 'we are family'at PVR in Sahara Mall...the next day I and my friends decided to go to Zoo....that was really entertaining.....there were various animals like white tiger,chimpanzee,azgars,monkeys,giant Squirrels.....the chirping of colourfull birds like neele peele makau made the environment very charming...the kids were busy teasing the animals depite of lot displays on the board which said not to disturb any animal...there was also a museum in zoo area with sculpture,paintings, natural history and anthropological specimens, coins, textiles and decorative arts.....what thrilled me the most was an 'Egyptian mummy' which was around 3000 years old......after all that masti .....3rd day began with a good and healthy breakfast ....and with the desire of visting Lucknow biggest mall ...Phoenix ...was quite far from my place of stay ....so we took an Auto ..ironically rain started same time when we began our journey...once rain started pouring one could see some new sights of Lucknow ....bole to ....lucknow in water ....rain water was flowing all over the roads like a river..... ...that Auto driver got scared to take us to that place ....being drenched completely .....we decided to take U turn ..... although our plan to visit Phoenix was sabotashed ..but what we saw was amazing view which could be seen only on that day ...Phoneix would be there tomorrow also ..but Lucknow full of water was rare to view ....Finally rain stopped ..and our excitement came down ..and we realized that ...we were all wet and needed immediate attention ....decided to buy new clothes from the mall to replace our wet clothes ...this was first time in life when i shopped for such a purpose....we went to Inox which is a Big Bazar shopping mall....i also brought a chikan kurta for my brother which had a very beautifull chicken embroidery....will never forget the 3 days of my life spent at such a wonderfull city...lucknow is a place must to visit.....
